Abbie Cornish: hair extensions saved my life!

Australian actress Abbie Cornish has told how hair extensions saved her from near disaster during the filming of ‘Suckerpunch’.

Appearing on a US talk show, 28-year-old Abbie described how a fellow actor leapt towards her, armed with a WW1 rifle, which had a steel bayonet on the end.

The steel bayonet came away and hit the star on the side of her head.  She was knocked out and covered in blood.  However, things could have been so much worse.  Abbie later realised that it was the metal clip holding her hair extension in place which had deflected the full force of the hit.

'Your life was saved by hair extensions,' proclaimed host Jimmy Kimmel.

'It totally was,' replied the actress.

Now all Abbie has is a small scar to remind her of her close escape.  And she has yet one more good reason to keep wearing her lovely hair extensions!
