Alex Curran’s World Cup winning hair

Steven Gerrard is receiving plenty of praise for his performance in England’s World Cup opener and his glamorous wife Alex isn’t escaping attention either, with her glossy, blonde hair extensions being the talk of the style gurus.

Alex’s style can be a bit hit and miss.  She has, on occasions, looked very typically WAG, with her hair over-bleached and her extensions too obvious.  However, when she gets it right, she looks classy and understated, with her clip-in hair extensions used to great effect.

Alex manages to attain something that many blondes strive for: length and true shine.  The two often don’t go hand in hand.  She is doing this by a combination of Remy hair extensions and some expert colouring.  Medium golden blonde highlights have been worked through her already-light base colour, creating a rich texture.  She has also been working the ‘Bardot’ look, which is a really hot trend right now, with extra volume at the roots.  This can be achieved by using clip-in extensions and adding extra volume by backcombing or using heated rollers – or even simple arched combs which can be easily bought on the high street. 

The human hair used in extensions is treated in such a way that it becomes more pliable and will hold styles well until washing. This is how Alex and so many other celebrities manage to maintain volume and curls for hours on end.
