Fringe Benefits

Long, poker straight hair extensions coupled with a heavy fringe is a really hot look right now on runways and red carpets, and has been adopted by celebs including Kim Kardashian, Taylor Swift and Angelina Jolie, to name but a few.  A fringe can really change your entire appearance and some women just seem to carry them off better than others.  If you’ve tried one in the past and didn’t like it, it may be because you chose the wrong shape for your face.

The hottest style right now is a super-heavy fringe which extends right down to the eyelids.  However, this works best if you have an oval-shaped face, long face or high forehead. In fact, it can help to shorten an overly-long face.

If you don’t have the face shapes mentioned above, then fear not because there are plenty of other fashionable styles to choose from, to flatter your appearance.

Round face: Fringes that are shaped with a shorter middle are asymmetric or wispy can give length to a round face, making it appear more oval.

Heart face: A blunt, straight fringe will cover the forehead and soften a pointy chin. A side-swept fringe also works well with heart-shaped faces.

Square face: Avoid a blunt fringe at all costs as it will make you look too angular.  On the other hand, long, wispy, or side-swept fringes can really flatter this shape face.

If you want to experiment before going for the chop, then it is possible to purchase clip-in fringes which work in the same way as clip-in hair extensions; you can add or remove them in a matter of seconds and re-use them.
