Hot summer style: braids

Braids were a hot trend last year and the penchant for plaits looks set to continue well into 2011.  Indeed, braids are only getting more and more popular, as girls everywhere are reaching out for clip-in hair extensions and experimenting with different interpretations of the style.  Many of our favourite celebrities including Blake Lively, Jennifer Lopez, Cheryl Cole, Jennifer Aniston and Sienna Miller are huge fans of braids.

There are so many different styles to choose from, from low-maintenance shaggy side-swept braids to more intricate, French-plaited up-dos. The beauty of the braid, aside from being very practical, is that it suits all textures of hair, both straight and curly.  The only thing you do need is length, and this is why clip-in extensions are so handy; you can boost your length, volume and shine by simply adding a few - and they can be styled in exactly the same way as your own hair.
