Is Tulisa setting a new ombre trend?
Posted by Jo Roberts on October 21, 2011

The ombre look, also known as dip-dye, has become a huge hit this season. It is now officially fashionable to wear your hair with darker roots gradually fading into lighter ends, giving us all the perfect excuse for leaving it a little longer than normal before touching up our colour.
We’ve seen the likes of Stacey Solomon and SJP proudly wearing hair extensions which gradually change from brunette to blonde – and they look very elegant. X-Factor judge Tulisa has now turned the trend on its head, sporting a ‘reverse’ dip-dye effect, with blonde roots fading into darker ends. Although we don’t see many celebs experimenting with the colour in this way at the moment, Tulisa’s hair is , in fact, not dissimilar from how Jennifer Aniston used to wear it in her ‘Friends’ heydays, with blonde streaks framing her face….the look that inspired millions of women to ask for a ‘Rachel’ in the 1990s!
Tulisa’s makeover since joining the X-Factor has been quite remarkable. She is virtually unrecognisable from the videos she starred in with N-Dubz. Her glamorous dresses and sleek hair extensions have transformed her style from street to chic.
