The 44-year old singer has not yet disclosed her reasons for the change. Certainly she’s not had an easy time of it lately following the untimely death of her brother, Michael, and the end of her seven-year relationship with music producer Jermaine Dupri last year.  Perhaps she wanted to mark a new chapter in her life?  She’s rumoured to now be dating Wissam al Mana, a Qatari businessman….although she remains tight lipped on that one, too.

The new look has met with a lukewarm reception.  It seems most people think that Janet looked better with her hair long – and we tend to agree.  And knowing how fickle many celebrities can be when it comes to their hair, we suspect the hair extensions may be back in the not too distant future…
