Lauren Conrad shows off rainbow hair extensions

Star of “The Hills”, Lauren Conrad, who has been busy re-inventing herself as a fashion and beauty expert, has unveiled a new hairstyle, complete with a set of rainbow coloured hair extensions.

More and more celebrities and catwalk models are experimenting with bright colours, although this is probably the boldest example we’ve seen so far.  Stars such as Jessie J have opted for just one or two colours and gone for a subtle effect by adding their clip-in hair extensions in the lower layers of their manes.  Lauren takes things to another level here, evoking the tie-dye craze of the seventies.

In a recent interview, Lauren declared how she felt it was important that girls should regularly “mix up” their hairstyles.

"Needless to say, aside from healthy hair I think it's important to mix it up and try new hairstyles. Just remember it's important to frame your fashion and beauty sense around what works for you. It's not all about trends,” she said. 

Seems a slightly odd thing to say, however, when she has just experimented with one of this year’s hottest trends herself!
