Leona Lewis’ bold reinvention

We’re not quite sure what has happened to Leona Lewis but her image has had a complete overhaul this past week.  The once-demure British singer is in LA at the moment as she tries to crack the US market and she’s made a series of personal appearances wearing very eye-catching outfits.  Her hair has also changed – she’s gone from her trademark cascading curls to some very on-trend, poker straight hair extensions – complete with a heavy fringe.

First up, on Tuesday it was Justin Beiber’s movie premiere.  Leona showed up wearing a giant pair of lips on her chest, and on Wednesdays pre-Grammys party her assets were covered with a giant yellow bow.  Then just last night, she wore little more than a turquoise bra and purple maxi skirt.  A far cry from the pretty, flowing gowns we used to see on the down-to-earth girl who shot to fame as X-Factor winner in 2006.

Leona’s new image has divided opinion.  Some are praising her unique new look, while others think she’s gone too far in a bid to get noticed.  Certain quarters are also getting suspicious that she’s had surgery as well, but we tend to think it’s just the new make-up and hair extensions which have altered the appearance of her face, making it look more slender.
