Lindsay Lohan got to keep her hair extensions after all

Just last week, reports were rife that Lindsay Lohan was “sobbing” as her hair extensions were “ripped out” by a prison warden upon entering Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, California.  Now it would appear that they were merely rumours, as the incarcerated actress got to keep them in – something she is no doubt mightily relieved about.

A spokesman from Los Angeles County sheriff's office confirmed that Lindsay Lohan’s hair extensions could not, in fact, be removed - because they were bonded into her hair. While clip-in hair extensions are always taken from prisoners, wefts are too tricky to remove without professional help – so they stay put.

The Mean Girls actress was jailed on 20 July for 90 days, for violating the terms of her probation.

Officials maintain that the 24-year-old did not receive any special treatment because of her celebrity status.  It was purely because her hair extensions were sewn in near her scalp and were therefore not easy to remove, that she got to keep them.
