Paris Hilton sued over hair extensions

Paris Hilton’s hair extensions may look lovely - but they have got her into some seriously hot water.

The 29-year-old socialite and wannabe pop star/actress is being sued by Hairtech International Inc, who claim that Paris - who is contracted to promote their products - has betrayed them by wearing hair extensions produced by a rival company.

According to the lawsuit, Hairtech is suing Ms Hilton for $35 million (£22.4m) in damages – that’s ten times the amount she was paid under her contract.

The company has also stated that Paris’s party-filled lifestyle goes against its marketing campaign, and that she missed the ‘very important’ launch party in 2007 – in spite of the fact it was impossible, since she was busy serving her time behind bars for being caught driving on a suspended license!  Hairtech claims that “more than 600 hair extension professionals” were scheduled to attend at the party, but Paris’s absence lost opportunities which should have resulted in $6.6 million in revenue.

$35 million seems a crazy amount, but it will be up to a judge to decide how much she pays – should the case make it to trial…
