Paris Hilton wins round one of hair extensions tussle
Posted by Jo Roberts on December 24, 2010

Socialite Paris Hilton has succeeded in the first stage of her legal battle with Hairtech Interational. The hair extensions company filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Paris earlier this year, claiming that she failed to promote their products effectively – partly because she chose to wear a different brand of hair extensions herself!
A Superior Court Judge has ruled that the lawsuit has not effectively substantiated a number of claims about Paris. The allegation of fraud has been wiped and the firm’s lawyers can no longer make reference to her wearing a competitor’s hair extensions.
Hairtech are still, however, able to proceed with their allegation that Ms Hilton breached her contract when she was sent to jail for a short term.
Paris has not taken this sitting down. She has filed a counter-suit against Hairtech, alleging the firm withheld more than $1.7 million (£1.1 million) in guaranteed payments. But we’ll have to wait a while for the outcome, as the trial doesn’t begin until November…
