Rihanna channels the Little Mermaid

Rihanna has been the subject of much discussion regarding her saucy outfits, but this weekend she was spotted out in New York looking almost demure in comparison to her recent numbers.  The dress was short and black but our attention was naturally drawn to her flame red hair extensions which are back - and looking cooler than ever.  She added a quirky twist by adding two buns on the side of her head.

Rihanna’s cascading red hair extensions have apparently been inspired by none other than Disney’s Little Mermaid!  The pop star tweeted a pic of herself on Sunday, writing “Touch ups….Ariel style” (Ariel being the name of the Little Mermaid character).

The 23-year-old singer was also spotted popping into a tattoo parlour during her New York visit.  She is joining a host of stars who are seemingly addicted to inking, as she has at least 14 already and now looks set on adding to her collection.
