Seventies hairstyles are back!

It’s great news for lovers of hair extensions: long hair is officially on trend.  We’ve seen it on many catwalks and countless celebrities and style icons have been lengthening their locks this season.  And watch out for a growing number who are embracing the seventies look, with lots of volume and flicks.

Pop starlet Diana Vickers recently undertook a photoshoot, with lots of sweeping Farrah Fawcett-style flicks.  It’s an ultra-glamorous, eye-catching style, that’s really easy to master at home.  All you need are a round hairbrush, some GHDs and some clip-in hair extensions, if you require that extra bit of length.

Here’s how you do it.

  1. Add the clip-in hair extensions, if required, then apply volumising spray or mousse from the roots to the tips of your hair.
  2. Section your hair with clips, as you’ll work on one small area at a time.
  3. Blow dry each section of hair using the round brush, rolling the hair all the way around the brush, then ‘flick’ it out at the ends.
  4. Use your GHDs if needed to add further definition to the flicks, ensuring you curl them upwards.
  5. Finish with a light hold hairspray.
  6. Now put on your sparkliest outfit and go find the nearest disco!
